JOURNEY IN THE LAND OF GODS

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
  • Assistance upon arrival at Delhi Airport
  • India Gate - The towering archway of India Gate at the center of New Delhi is a war memorial, built in memory of the Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army in World War I
  • The Rashtrapati Bhavan – It is the official home of the President of India located at the Western end of Rajpath in New Delhi, India
  • Rashtrapati Bhavan may refer to only the 340-room main building that has the president's official residence, including reception halls, guest rooms and offices, also called the mansion
  • Gurudwara Bangla Sahib It is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship, in Delhi, India and known for its association with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan, as well as the pool inside its complex, known as the "Sarovar
  • " Jama Masjid – The country’s largest mosque, it towers over Old Delhi and a barely a drive from the Red Fort, it is the final architectural triumph of Shah Jahan
  • It can hold up to 25,000 worshippers at a time
  • Rickshaw Ride in Chandni Chowk
  • Chandni Chowk is the most famous and historic street of Delhi, built around 300 years ago when the walled city of Shahjahanabad was established in the 17th century
  • Chandni Chowk, the main street of old Delhi, is a shocking contrast to the wide, orderly streets of New Delhi
Day 2: Delhi - Rishikesh
  • After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh
  • Popularly known as Yoga Capital of the World
  • Located in the foothills of the Himalayas along the convergence of Ganga and Chandrabhaga River
  • Evening visit Bharat Temple and walk through the colourful market of Rishikesh
  • Later proceed for a visit to Triveni Ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti
  • Overnight stay is at hotel in Rishikesh
Day 3: Rishikesh
  • After breakfast, proceed for a hike to Patna village and waterfall near Rishikesh, to experience the nature, village life and culture of the people
  • Thereafter, proceed for a visit to Uttra Art Gallery which exhibits the extraordinary Himalayan pictures
  • Walk a bit further and reach Triyambakeshwar Temple, a 13 storey Hindu temple close to Laxman Jhula
  • From here, you will also get to see Laxman Jhula, a suspension bridge on river Ganga Later, walk through the alleys and reach Ram Jhula, another suspension bridge on Ganga river
  • Close to Ram Jhula is Swargashram, known for its ethnic touch
  • There are many Ashrams and Temples inside the Swargashram
  • The famous Parmarth Ashram is within this premise only
  • Overnight stay is at hotel in Rishikesh
Day 4: Rishikesh – Saur
  • Morning after breakfast, you can go for any one activity near Rishikesh from the options given below
  • Optionals in Rishikesh: White Water Rafting - Drive to Shivpuri to participate in white water rafting
  • Our river expert will brief you about the rafting techniques, get ready for river rafting from Shivpuri down to Rishikesh, this is thrilling run and one will encounter rapids
  • Visit to Vashishtha Gufa - An ancient cave where great Sage Vashishtha meditated
  • The cave is a popular spot near Rishikesh and has a Shivlinga in it
  • Near the Vashishtha Cave there is Swami Purushottamanand Ashram which manages the cave
  • Visit to Kunjapuri Temple - One of the sacred Hindu temple located on a hill top
  • After visting the temple, have your packed breakfast
  • Spend some time at this scenic location that also offers panoramic views of snow capped mountains and peaks such as Swarga Rohini, Gangotri, Banderpunch and Chaukhamba
  • Thereafter, drive to Saur Village, which was once on a verge of turning into a ghost village but later revived by the community based owned tourism projects
  • Saur is the first village to have painted life lessons on the walls of its houses
  • On arrival at Saur, check-in at the cottage
  • Overnight stay is at Pahari House (Mountain House) in Saur
Day 5: Saur
  • This day proceed for a village walk which narrates a story of this village
  • Within the village you can watch handicrafts practiced from indigenous materials and learn about local food as well
  • You can explore the nature around walking through the trails and enjoying flora and bird watching
  • Overnight stay is at Pahari House (Mountain House) in Saur
Day 6: Saur – Harsil
  • Morning after breakfast, check-out from Saur cottages and drive to Harsil, a beautiful valley with good scenic views around
  • Situated on the banks of Bhagirathi River, Harsil is an unspoiled and hidden jewel of Uttarakhand
  • On arrival, check-in at the hotel
  • Overnight stay is at hotel in Harsil
Day 7: Harsil
  • Morning after breakfast, explore the town of Harsil visiting Buddhist Temple, that has some interesting Buddhist inscription
  • Close to Harsil is Bagori village, where most of the people are from Bhotia tribe
  • You can see the wooden houses on both sides of the path in Bagori village
  • Also visit Mukhba, another beautiful village which is also a winter abode of Goddess Ganga
  • On closing of Gangotri Dham portal for winters, the idol of Goddess Ganga is brought to the temple in Mukhba
  • Evening will be free at leisure
  • Overnight stay is at hotel in Harsil
Day 8: Harsil – Uttarkashi
  • Post breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi and on arrival, check-in at the hotel
  • Thereafter, proceed for a short tour of the town
  • Uttarkashi, which means ‘Kashi of the North’ is a town in Uttarakhand which is known for the temples and ashrams
  • The Viswanath Temple is the most important and ancient holy shrine in Uttarkashi
  • Of the many temples in Uttarkashi, the temple of Lord Vishwanath is unrivalled in importance
  • Shiva, the presiding deity of this temple, is worshipped all day here
  • Visit other small temples as well, which are dedicated to the chief deities Hanuman and Durga
  • Overnight stay is at hotel in Uttarkashi
Day 9: Uttarkashi – Dehradun
  • Morning, post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Capital city of Dehradun
  • Enroute, you will get to see the grand Tehri lake
  • Afternoon visit of Mindrolling Monastery or Place of Perfect Emancipation is the largest Buddhist learning centre of India is devoted to the research of Buddhist scriptures
  • Overnight stay is at hotel in Rishikesh
Day 10: Dehradun – Delhi
  • Morning, you will check-out from your hotel and will be drive back to Delhi to connect the flight back Home
